Julie Gurak returns for her fourth and final season of competition with the Lady Falcons. She will compete for playing time as a defender. Last season, she competed in 13 matches and started in 11 matches. As a sophomore, she competed in all 18 matches, started in 17 matches, and tallied two assists in a victory over Eckerd College. As a freshman, Julie was one of four players to compete and start in all 14 matches. She also tallied two goals and added four assists.

Julie competed on the varsity for four years for coach Matthew Cameron at Vestavia Hills High School, and was member of the Alabama 6A State Championship squad her freshman season. She was named the best defensive player as a sophomore and junior, and was named team captain her senior season. Julie was also named to the All-Metro tournament team as a senior and participated in the North-South All-Star game. Julie also competed for coach John Sheringham with the Mountain Brook Soccer Club. She has a brother Billy, and sister Marianne.

A family and consumer sciences major at UM, she is the daughter of Dutchie and Marsha Gurak.
