MONTEVALLO --- Brothers Parker and Hunter Ingle, both of whom are members of the University of Montevallo soccer team, went to great lengths to donate their hair to provide hairpieces for children suffering from long-term hair loss. In fact, the Ingles each donated more than a foot of their blonde locks to help financially disadvantaged youngsters who have cancer or other medical problems.

 “Winning by a hair” has taken on new meaning as the brothers have won admiration, respect and accolades from family members, teammates at UM and others in the community who have learned of their gift to “Locks of Love,” a non-profit organization offering hairpieces and wigs to needy children under the age of 18 who are facing long-term — or permanent — hair loss from any medical diagnosis.    ingle story

NASHVILLE (4/8) -- The University of Montevallo posted a 3-2 victory over Lipscomb University in a spring men's soccer match in Nashville.
James Ward scored in the 2nd minute with assists from Jonathan Maloney and Griff Gowers. Otavio Tramontina scored a goal on a free kick in the 20th minute. After a LU goal, Maloney scored the game-winning goal with assists with Alex Ghoja and Daniel Pelletier in the 79th minute. LU was awarded and converted a penalty kick in the closing second to close out the scoring.

UM has concluded competition for the spring season.

MONTEVALLO (3/29) -- The University of Montevallo recorded a 2-0 victory over Covenant College, in a spring men's soccer match at Varsity Field on Saturday. James Ward scored a goal in the 17th minute with assists from Lucas Manzoli and Otavio Tramontina. The second goal was scored in the 83rd minute by Griff Gowers with an assist from Hunter Ingle.

UM will welcome the Alumni for a match at Varsity Field Friday night at 7 p.m. The team will then conclude the spring season with a match at Lipscomb University Saturday at 3 p.m.


Montevallo defeats AUM spring soccer match
 

MONTEVALLO (3/12) -- The University of Montevallo posted a 3-0 shutout victory over Auburn-Montgomery in a spring men's soccer match at Varsity Field.  Griff Gowers scored the game-winning goal in the 25th minute with an assist from Jonathan Maloney. Lucas Manzoli scored a goal in the 35th minute for a 2-0 lead. In the second half, Alex Ghoja scored a goal with assists from Vitor Perim and Joe Gross in the 70th minute.

  

ROME, Ga. (3/9) -- Jonathan Maloney scored the game-winning goal in the 86th minute of play to lift the University of Montevallo to a 2-1 victory over Berry College, in a spring men's soccer match in Rome, Ga.
Otavio Tramontina had two assists on the day, also assisting on a first-half goal by Milan Pualic. Berry College tied the match later in the first half.

BIRMINGHAM (2/23) -- Griff Gowers scored a goal in the 85th minute of play to allow the University of Montevallo to tie with UAB, 1-1, in a spring men's soccer match in Birmingham.
