Sixth year at UM

Justin Pratt begins his sixth year as an assistant coach for the UM men’s soccer program. In addition to his on-field and off-field duties at UM, Justin is also very involved with youth soccer in the Birmingham area. He coaches two teams with the Vestavia Steamers Soccer Club, and he also runs Professional Sports Conditioning, a sports conditioning business for local athletes.

A native of Franklin, Tennessee, Pratt was a four-year starter at defender at UAB, and helped lead the Blazers to two conference championships. In 1999, the Blazers advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championships. He concluded his career seventh on the all-time career assist list. Pratt later earned his bachelor’s degree in Health Promotions in December 1999.
 

Pratt was selected in the first round of the 2000 USL draft by the Indiana Blast, with the 18th overall pick. He  played professionally in the USL First Division for three years, playing for teams in Indianapolis, Indiana (Indiana Blast) and El Paso, Texas (El Paso Patriots). Pratt resides in Alabaster and holds a USSF “C” License.
