Ashton Stansberry returns for her third season with the Lady Falcons. Last season, Ashton competed in six meets, recording sub-23 minute times at five of the meets, including a season-best 21:27 at the Crimson Classic. She also recorded a 21:47 at the 2006 Gulf South Conference Women's Cross-Country championships. As a freshman, Ashton posted the team best time at two meets, at Sewanee and at UAH. Ashton posted a season-best time of 20:56 at the 2005 GSC Cross-Country Championship.

Ashton was an All-State selection her senior season, while competing for coach William Calvert at Cullman High School. She was a four-year letter-winner, two-time recipient of the Cross Country Perfect Attendance Award, and two-time recipient of the Most Improved Runner Award. She has a sister, Lynsey.

A mass communications/broadcasting major at UM, she is the daughter of Mike and Angela Stansberry.
