JONES NAMED GSC EAST FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
HENDRICKS AND GRAHAM NAMED SECOND TEAM ALL-GSC

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (3/4) -- Freshman forward Shan Jones has been selected the 2008 Gulf South Conference East Division Freshman of the Year, while senior guard Jennifer Hendricks and junior guard Jamie Graham have been named to the Second Team All-Gulf South Conference, it has been announced.

Jones becomes the second Lady Falcon to be named GSC East Freshman of the Year. Jennifer Hendricks was named GSC East Freshman of the Year for the 2004-05 season. The Hartselle native averaged 9.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, starting in 22 of 27 games. She has scored in double figures in 17 games and has collected six double-doubles this season.

Hendricks led the Lady Falcons in scoring (12.3 ppg) and became the eighth Lady Falcon to surpass 1,000 points in her career.

Graham averaged 11.4 points per game and led UM in rebounding, grabbing 9.2 rebounds per game. She also posted ten double-doubles on the season, five in GSC play. Graham also scored in double figures in 14 games, including six consecutive games, and was named GSC East Player of the Week on Feb. 25.

UM has concluded the 2007-2008 season.
