Christina Shelton will join the Montevallo women’s basketball program this season. She will compete for playing time as a guard. Christina shot 39 percent from the field, while averaging five points, three rebounds and two steals per game her senior season while competing for coach Cara Crosslin at nearby Thompson High School. She was a named Team Captain her senior season, and led the team in assists as a junior and senior. Christina is also the recipient of the Players Choice Award her freshman and sophomore seasons. Christina was named to A-B Honor Roll for four years, and received honors in Spanish. She has three brothers Kenny, Tony and Ryan, along with a sister Malissa.

A biology major at UM, she is the daughter of Mark and Karen Shelton.
