Branden
Vincent
will return to the
University of Montevallo men’s
basketball coaching staff as a graduate
assistant for the 2007-08 season. He
will continue to assist in
day-to-operations to include film
exchange, scouting and other
administrative duties in addition to his
on-floor coaching responsibilities.
Originally from New Orleans, Vincent was
a two-year letter winnner at Mississippi
State University, served as team
captain, led the team in blocked shots
and was second on the team in rebounding
his senior season. He was part of a team
that captured the 2003-04 Southeastern
Conference regular season championship,
and helped the team win back-to-back SEC
Western Division championships. Prior
to MSU, Vincent competed in back-to-back
NJCAA Tournaments at Okaloosa-Walton
Community College. At OWC, Vincent led
the team in scoring and rebounding his
sophomore season.
Vincent played professionally in
Switzerland and spent one season with
the Mississippi Stingers of the American
Basketball Association, where he was an
All-Star, led the team in scoring, and
was second in rebounding.
Vincent has been an assistant coach at
MSU for their summer basketball camps
for three summers, and has been an
assistant coach for the Louisiana State
University Elite Women’s Basketball camp
in 2005, and the Lady Tigers AAU Team in
Jackson, Miss. in 2004.
Vincent,
along with wife Crystal, resides in
Birmingham. |
