Alex Lovell will compete in his first season with the Falcons. He will compete for playing time in the post area.

Alex was an Honorable Mention All-State, Second Team All-Metro, All- County and All-Area selection, while competing for coach Bill Griffin at Gardendale High School. Alex was twice named North Jefferson News Player of the Year, Birmingham News Player of the Week as a senior, and named MVP of the Oneonta Tournament as a junior. He was also named to the All-Tournament Team of the Oneonta Tournament as a senior. Alex scored over 1,500 points in his career in high school and was named team MVP for three years.

He has a brother Jason. A kinesiology major at UM, he is the son of Dana Brown and Mike Lovell.
