Dustin Rhodes returns for his third season of competition with the Falcons. He is in his fourth year with the program, having spending the 2005 season as a redshirt. He will be expected to compete for playing time in the infield. Last season, Dustin appeared in 30 games, started in nine games and hit a pinch-hit home run in extra innings against Valdosta State. He also had nine RBI. He had three multi-hit and three multi-RBI games. As a freshman, Dustin competed in 40 games, started in 20 games, and batted .265 with three home runs and 20 RBI. He went 4-for-8 with five RBI in a doubleheader against Miles College. He also manage to post an eight-game hitting streak.

Rhodes competed for coach Danny Carlisle at Starkville High School, where he was named Best Offensive Player in 2003 and 2004.

A kinesiology major at UM, he is the son of Don Rhodes and Scarlett  Hegwood.
