Francisco Perez will join the University of Montevallo coaching staff this season as a student assistant.

Perez was a two-year letter winner for the Falcons. Last season, he appeared in 24 games, batting .385 with three home runs and nine RBI. He went 3-for-4 scoring three runs in a victory over West Georgia. As a junior, he appeared in 39 games and started in 30 games. He batted .269 with 15 RBI. He collected eight multi-hit games, including a 3-for-5 performance against Southern Arkansas at the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament.

Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, Frankie transferred to UM from Odessa Community College, where he competed for two seasons for coaches Rick Zimmerman and Jon Wente. There, he led the team in hitting his freshman season, batting .404 with seven home runs and 55 RBI. He also batted .330 with seven home runs and 45 RBI his sophomore season.

Frankie prepped at Clear Brook High School in Friendswood, Texas, where he was a First Team All-District selection and team MVP.

He will soon earn his bachelor's degree in kinesiology.
