Chris Cooper
competes in his second and final
season with the Falcons, and will compete for playing time in
the infield. Chris appeared in 64 games, batted .322 with 10
home runs. He was second on the team in RBI (62), and triples
(4), third in hits (75), home runs (10), stolen bases (14), and
fourth in runs scored (57).He also had 21 multiple-hit games and
16 multiple RBI games, including a 3-for-4 effort with four runs
scored and three RBI against UAH. He also hit a walk-off home
run in extra innings in a game two victory against Valdosta
State.
Chris is a transfer to UM from Northwest Shoals Community
College, where he was an All-Conference selection, while
competing for coach David Langston. Cooper had a .280 average in
49 games with two home runs and and 21 RBI. He went 4-for-5 with
four RBI against Columbia State Community College. He also
collected 11 multi-hit games.
Chris competed for coach Al Rauls at Bob Jones High School in
Madison, where he was a two-time All-Region selection in
baseball, and All-Region 8 and All-Metro selection in football.
A history major at UM with a minor in political science, he is
the son of Richard and Gail Cooper. |
