Brandon Aldridge
will compete in his third
season with the Montevallo baseball team. He will compete for
playing time on the mound. Last season, Brandon appeared in six
games, before an injury cut short his sophomore season. He
earned a victory against Southern Arkansas at the beginning of
the season, striking out three in five plus innings of work. He
posted a 1-1 record and 6.08 ERA in 13 innings. As a freshman,
he competed in 19 games, and earned victories against Northwest
Missouri State, Stillman College and against West Chester
University in the NCAA National Championship Series. Against
West Chester, he tossed three innings of scoreless relief with
five strikeouts, helping propel the Falcons to the national
semifinals. For the season, Brandon posted a 2.83 ERA in 35
innings of work with 27 strikeouts.
Brandon prepped at Vestavia Hills High School, where he competed
for coaches Sammy Dunn and Dal Davis. He was a three-year
starting pitcher, infielder and designated hitter. He was the
recipient of the team’s Best Pitcher Award, named to the
Jefferson County Baseball Coaches Association All-Tournament
Team listed in Baseball America, and Honorable Mention All-State
his senior year.
A kinesiology major at UM, he is the son of Michael and Melanie
Aldridge.
