Biology

The Biology program features a diverse curriculum in Biology and provides pre-professional programs for students pursuing admission into medical, dental, veterinarian, pharmacy and optometry schools. Active faculty research programs provide research opportunities to undergraduate students who are interested in graduate school or careers in biology-based laboratories. The Biology program is also a member of the Marine Environmental Sciences Consortium, dedicated to providing marine education, research and service to UM students. A minor in Biology is also offered. Our goal as a department is to produce the best students possible, but in a way that is enjoyable during the time they are at UM.
