Professional Biography Ted Metz is a professor of sculpture and one of the senior members of the Art Department. He has exhibited widely and has completed several large-scale public sculptures, including “Becoming”, the campus sculpture. Ted has received numerous exhibition awards and was a recipient of an Individual Artist Fellowship, awarded by the Alabama State Council for the Arts. As an educator he has been honored by receiving the University Scholar Award, Outstanding Commitment to Teaching Award, and two Distinguished Teacher of the Year awards.
