*DIGITAL MEDIA ARTS MINOR
Purpose
This 18-hour minor sponsored jointly by the Departments of Art, Communication Arts, and Music is available to all University of Montevallo students with an interest in digital media and a desire to develop a set of skills. Course choices range broadly across the fields of computer graphics, digital video, web design, digital audio, and music technology.Admission
The Digital Media Arts Minor is open to any student at the University of Montevallo. Students pursuing the minor may enroll in most digital media courses without completing the usual prerequisite foundations courses.Requirements
Completion of the minor requires 18 credit-hours in digital media arts courses from the list below as approved by an advisor. Course work must include a minimum of 6 credit-hours in at least two departments.For a fine arts major, no more than 6 hours may count toward completion of both the major and the DMA minor.
Academic Advising
The chairs of the Departments of Art, Communication Arts, and Music serve as advisors to students in the minor program. Students may be advised by any or all of these or their designees, but would be best served by working with the chair of the department where they expect to complete most of their course work.Courses
