Words of wisdom:
Learn everything. Take it all in. Get involved in elements of your chosen field of study that you might not initially be inclined to. Learn your craft and your skill from every possible angle.
Who would you like to thank for your success?
My professors in the Theatre Department at the time I was there. Charles Harbour and John Rude–all of the faculty back then. They encouraged and supported a creative and self-motivating environment that has stayed with me through my career on many levels.
How did Montevallo affect your career choice?
My time and training at Montevallo gave me the tools and the confidence to forge a professional career. I was able to do a lot of things in the theatre department in addition to acting. I directed, wrote plays, built sets and even learned how to make a hat from scratch! That vast working knowledge gave me a solid and fertile foundation to begin my professional journey.
What was your favorite aspect of Montevallo?
The people. My teachers. My friends. The town folk. It was a real “home,” and the school was filled with extraordinary people. I have remained very close with many of my UM family throughout the years.
