UM holds a list of freshman admission criteria based upon a combination of high school grade point average and ACT or SAT scores to ensure that our incoming students are ready for our engaging curriculum.
In order to be admitted to the University of Montevallo, incoming freshmen must meet the 2.5 cumulative GPA requirement and have a minimum composite ACT score of 20 or a 950 on SAT critical reading and mathematics. Students with an ACT of 18 or 19 or an 870 on SAT critical reading and mathematics may be considered for regular admission on the basis of a scale of increasing grade point average.
Students taking AP, IB, or dual enrollment courses should have test scores submitted to the Office of Admissions or official transcripts from the university where the dual enrollment courses were completed.
All students with at least a 27 ACT or a 1220 SAT and a 3.0 GPA will be automatically invited to take part in the Honors Program.
