So you’ve earned a bachelor’s degree, and you’ve accomplished a lot in those few years.

But if you want to climb even higher, we can help you extend your journey one of our engaging and accessible graduate programs.

Ready to fill out an application? Below are some things to get you started.

  • Know Your Deadlines

    Graduate program priority deadlines, unless otherwise noted below:

    • Fall: July 15
    • Spring: November 15
    • Summer: April  15

    Counseling (M.Ed.) Fall and Spring Cohort:
    There is no application deadline for admission into the graduate program in Counseling. Departmental review of all completed applications will begin the first week of the Spring semester for the Fall cohort (which begins in late August) and the first week of Fall semester for the Spring cohort (which begins in early January). Applications for a particular cohort will be accepted until that cohort is filled. Students are encouraged to apply early to be considered for admission.

    Speech-Language Pathology (M.S.) deadline:

    • Fall: February 1
  • Satisfactory Test Scores for Admission

    • GRE 850 (old format) or 290 (new format)
    • GMAT 400
    • MAT 388

    *Please note that the MBA and Speech-Language Pathology programs are excluded from the above category.

  • Test Registration Information

    • MAT: The MAT is given at the University of Montevallo campus each semester through the Office of Counseling and Leadership. Please contact the office secretary at 205.665.6380 for more information.
    • MBA: Interested students can register for the GMAT here.
    • GRE: Interested students should register for the GRE here.
  • Transcript Information

    Electronic official transcript delivery is a new delivery method the University of Montevallo is offering in partnership with eSCRIP-SAFE. Transcripts from institutions that are members of the eSCRIP-SAFE network will be delivered electronically with the student signed request. To see a list of institutions within the network, view the eSCRIP-SAFE network membership list.

    Do you see your college(s) on the list and want your eSCRIP transcripts delivered to UM? Contact the respective registrar or records office to have your transcripts electronically sent to graduate@montevallo.edu.

    Additionally, students must complete the Transcript Release Form in order for prior institutions to release all transcripts in your academic file.

If you would like to mail in a hard copy of your application, please download the applicable document. If you would like to submit your application online, you'll find the link to the online application below as well.

  • Application for Graduate Study download

    Students applying to graduate study at the University of Montevallo should complete this application. Please note this application has a $30.00 application fee that must be submitted along with the application. Applications received without an application fee will not be processed.

  • Alternative Masters Evaluation Application download

    The Alternative Master program offers students who do not have a Bachelor's Degree in education the ability to obtain both teacher certification at the Master's level along with their Master of Education degree. All students applying to the Alternative Masters program will need to complete this application. Please note this application has a $25.00 application fee that must be submitted along with the application. Applications received without an application fee will not be processed. In addition, students must also submit an application to Graduate Admissions & Records with a $30.00 fee.
