Jump Start Program

Did you know that 1 of 4 students beginning college this year will dropout before the beginning of the third semester of classes?

Making the transition from high school to college has proven over the years to be a very difficult process for many students.  Some adjust well to the changes that occur during this time, while others struggle to adapt.  In an  effort to enhance your success during this transitional period, we would like to extend an invitation for you to join us by participating in the Jump Start  program held during Extended Freshman Orientation on Friday, August 22, 2008 from 12:00-4:00.

Jump Start is a program designed to help college students get the right start on their collegiate career.  This one-day seminar will give participants insight into the world of higher education by exposing both  the hidden challenges as well as the opportunities that are common amongst college students.

Attendees of the Jump Start program will:

  • Develop an understanding of the obstacles and the opportunities that are generally associated with the transitions from high school to college.
  • Develop the skills and attitude necessary to achieve success in a collegiate setting.
  • Understand the importance of networking and how it helps to shape opportunity for future professional advancement.
