The University of Montevallo recognizes and rewards the challenging curriculum of the International Baccalaureate program, a program which offers credit to students earning the IB diploma and/or achieving certain scores in the IB program. Achievement of such scores could potentially offer automatic admission in the University Honors Program.
The following is recognition of credit to the University of Montevallo based upon total IB points earned.

University Honors Program
Students applying to UM as entering freshmen who complete all work toward the IB diploma, achieving a minimum 3.0 high school GPA and scoring 26 or more total IB points will be offered automatic admissions into the University Honors Program.
UM will award general core credit through IB and Advanced Placement (AP) examinations. Credit will be reviewed upon acceptance to the University, and for purposes of admission into the UM Honors credit will be reviewed after completion of the fall semester of the student's senior year of high school. Credit will be reviewed and determined by University Registrar and the appropriate Department Chair not before completion of the fall semester of the students senior year of high school.
