Academic Alert Program

The University of Montevallo's Academic Alert Program allows faculty members to refer struggling students for assistance. The advisors and student support staff members who receive these referrals attempt to contact the students in order to connect them to college resources.

The goals of the Academic Alert Program are to:

  • Reach struggling students as early in the term as possible.
  • Connect struggling students to college resources.
  • Help students to maintain or improve their GPA.
  • Improve student retention rates.

Struggling students as those who:

  • Have poor attendance.
  • Are continually late for class or leave early.
  • Are inattentive.
  • Do not participate.
  • Or any student, who in the opinion of the faculty instructor, is unlikely to be successful in a given course.

See navigation at left for links to resources for faculty staff and students.
