  • In support of the University of Montevallo’s mission and with the belief that all employees are a valuable asset, the Office of Human Resources provides courteous and supportive services in the recruitment and retention of qualified employees, administration of payroll and benefit services, and maintenance of employment records and electronic data. Using a value structure that promotes quality, end-user satisfaction, ethical management, accountability, and a quality work environment, Human Resources fosters confidence and trust in response to the needs and concerns of the campus community.

  • 2013GCWF_4Cplural The University of Montevallo was named to The Chronicle of Higher Education’s 2013 Great Colleges to Work For® program. The program recognizes small groups of colleges (based on enrollment size) for specific best practices and policies. Montevallo received recognition in both the Teaching Environment and Tenure Clarity and Process categories. The former is based on faculty members stating that the institution recognizes innovative and high-quality teaching. The latter is based on faculty indicating that requirements for tenure are clear. The Chronicle partnered with ModernThink, a strategic human-capital consulting firm, to administer the survey and analyze the results. The Great Colleges® survey included a two-part assessment process: a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff, as well as an institutional audit that captured demographics and workplace policies and practices from each institution. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received a Great College to Work For® recognition was employee feedback. Results analysis by ModernThink placed the University of Montevallo as one of 76 four-year institutions to be recognized from among 227 participants. Published since 1966, The Chronicle of Higher Education provides the academic community with an independent, global hub for news, sophisticated analysis, opinion, and engagement, and is read by more college and university faculty members and administrators than any other source in higher education. Now in its sixth year, the Great Colleges to Work For® program has become one of the largest and most-respected workplace-recognition programs in the country.
