The generous support of the University of Montevallo Foundation in vitalizing the undergraduate experience through Undergraduate Research is gratefully acknowledged.
Students are invited to engage in research, scholarship, and creative activity with faculty mentors through Undergraduate Research (UR), for which they may receive academic credit. It is the aim of Undergraduate Research to
to involve students in their own learning,
to develop teamwork and pride,
to enhance interdisciplinary learning,
and to share in the exhilaration of discovery.
All students are encouraged to participate in the University of Montevallo Council on Undergraduate Research. UMCUR, a collaborative association of students and faculty, which helps to set priorities and procedures for UR and reviews proposals seeking UR credit. (Details for being considered for engaging in UR for academic credit are found in the tabs to the left of this page.)
In addition, two special events are held each year to enable students to celebrate their research, scholarship, and creative activity with the broader academic community, even if they have not enrolled for or completed an UR project for academic credit. For the year 2008, these events are
