Qualifying for Services
Upward Bound provides academic enrichment necessary for potential first-generation college students
and/or economically disadvantaged youth to complete both high school and college.
To qualify for the program students must:
- Be enrolled in grade 9 or 10 at one of our target schools;
- Possess academic potential;
- Need the services we provide in order to fulfill academic goals;
- Be a potential first-generation college student (i.e. generally, neither parent has a bachelor's
degree, or if child lives either with one parent and receives no support from the other, or with
a guardian and that person does not have a degree); and
- Be from a low-income family.
