Social Organizations

Organizations that foster social networks among members. They create smaller communities within the larger University environment. The purpose of these groups is to facilitate growth in the areas of scholarship, personal and leadership development, campus involvement, and community service.

 

These organizations are also known as Greek Letter Organizations. There are several governing councils.

• National Panhellenic Council (NPC) only governs sororities
• Interfraternity Council (IFC) only governs fraternities
• National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) governs the historically African-American fraternities and sororities.
