All persons registering or driving motor vehicles are responsible for knowing the rules and regulations governing traffic and parking.Guests and Visitors
Guests and visitors should obtain a Guest Parking Permit from University Police. The Guest Permit is good in any legal parking space on campus. If you are a guest and need a Person with Disabilities parking space please indicate this at the time you pick up your temporary parking permit.
University Entrance Gates
The Entrance Gates are open 24 hours each day while school is in session.
Payment of Fines
Fines should be paid immediately at the Cashier’s Office, 2nd floor, Palmer Hall. SEE CITATIONS AND FINES.Accidents
When a traffic accident occurs on University property, the accident should be reported to the University Police Department. Vehicle(s) should not be moved until the investigating officer instructs the driver(s) to do so.
A copy of the accident report can be furnished to all parties for a $5.00
charge. The copy may be obtained at the University Police Department Monday
through Friday during normal business hours. Accident reports are available for
pick up after the 3rd business day.
I. Alabama State Law requires that all vehicles operated on the University of Montevallo property be insured with at least liability coverage.
Disabled Vehicles
Disabled vehicles are the responsibility of the driver, and should be removed within 24 hours. Disabled vehicles that constitute a traffic hazard will be removed at the owner’s expense.
Littering
Drivers and pedestrians are expected to help keep the campus clean by not littering parking lots, roadways, sidewalks, etc. Persons forgetting that may be so “reminded” by police and other UM officials and may even be required to pay the cost of having litter removed.
