Script Competition

Based on the belief that better scripts make for better productions, considerable time and attention has been given to encourage getting good scripts in early so that the scripts can be more polished before rehearsals.

The following guidelines are given for the script competition:

1.      New leaders should encourage script writing to begin in the Spring

2.      A release of ownership and rights shall be signed at the time of script submission to the Vice-President for Student Affairs

3.      Scripts should be typed, including all corrections and additions

4.      Scripts should include a list of characters and character descriptions

5.      Scripts should include a list of musical numbers

6.      Scripts should included lyrics and/or description of major musical numbers including purpose, characters, content, and style)

7.      No first drafts are to be turned in. Scripts are to be complete in
dialogue form with no "scenarios" of future scenes. No sketches, synopses, or partial scripts, or ad-libs are acceptable.
