Students with disabilities are encouraged to contact Disability Support Services (DSS) prior to or upon enrollment at the University. Students must provide current disability documentation (see Documentation Guidelines) and communicate clearly the need for accommodation. Requests for services and accommodations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must relate specifically to the students’ disability.
DSS Staff may act as a liaison regarding any disability accommodations. In order to more effectively meet the access needs of Montevallo students with disabilities, DSS works closely with academic departments, as well as with other campus entities , such as Housing and Residence Life, Student Support Services, Counseling and Career Center, Student Health Services, Student Life, Records, Physical Plant and the UM Police.
