ASPIRE/STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
ONLINE APPLICATION
IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
GENERAL INFORMATION:
a. currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment at the University
b. U. S. citizen or Permanent Resident and
c. be either a low-income individual (as determined by federal guidelines), a potential first generation college student (neither parent/guardian has a 4-year college degree), or an individual with a disability (documentation must be on file with Disability Support Services).
Because of federal guidelines individuals who are both low-income and first generation or low-income and have a disability receive first priority for the limited spaces.
3. Because we are funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the ASPIRE/SSS Program is required to collect your Social Security Number to document your eligibility to receive services.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
There are a few steps involved in the application process for ASPIRE/SSS. We ask that you answer the questions that are listed in the online application form below. This application also includes a space for you to submit a personal statement. We recommend that you compose your application in a word processing document before you begin completing the rest of this application. The personal statement should be at least one full page in length, but no longer than two. Write in complete sentences and organize your information in a logical manner. The narrative should address the following: Describe your educational experience thus far (at school and home; how your educational experience has helped and/or hindered you in becoming the type of person you would like to be; how has your family influenced your education; what your academic/career interests are and why; and why should we admit you into the ASPIRE Program. You may then copy and paste your essay in the space provided. Once we have received your application and contacted you, you will need to also submit the following:
· The first two pages of your parent/guardian’s most recent tax return. If you are an independent student please submit your own tax return. If no return was filed, we will need documentation of your family income for the last year.
· A Student Self-Assessment Survey You can pick this up in the ASPIRE/SSS Office, and complete it once we have received your application.

Please complete this application one time only. Fields marked with an asterisk "*" are REQUIRED fields; your application will not be accepted without all information.
