What is a Montevallo Master?
A Montevallo Master serves as the official volunteer hosts and hostesses of the University of Montevallo. They represent the University at functions such as Founder’s Day, Commencement services (May, August, and December) and Homecoming events.
What are the requirements?
In order to be a Montevallo Master, you must be a student of the University of Montevallo with at least a 2.5 grade point average, and you must have a desire to serve your University.
However, if you are chosen as a Montevallo Master you cannot be SGA President, Class President, Student Trustee, or College Night Leader.
What are the costs?
If chosen as a Master, the Office of the Dean of Students will purchase your uniform, including your nametag. However, please know that if you do not complete your yearlong duties, you will be responsible for reimbursing the Dean of Student's office for that uniform.
What will I do? What are my responsibilities?
As a Montevallo Master, you will get to do fun and interesting things that you would otherwise not have the opportunity to do. Often, Montevallo Masters are used to escort VIP visitors around campus, work parties and events. You will be required to work/attend the following events, plus two more events per semester:
