TEACHING EXPERIENCE
China
2005–2006 — Director of International Faculty for Hospital/Public Health Leadership Program in cooperation with the Chinese Ministry of Health, International Health Exchange and Cooperation Center. This was a pilot program in which forty Chinese hospital executives and regional public health officials learned principals of strategic management and healthcare finance for one week in Beijing (October, 2005), two weeks in Boston (May–June, 2006), and another week in Beijing (Fall, 2006). Program Director: Dr. Zhou Jian (Beijing).
1996–1998 — Quintiles Scholars Program — I was one of three American instructors in a set of comparative courses in health services management and leadership sponsored by the Quintiles Corporation and taught in Chapel Hill, NC (year-round) and Beijing, China (three nine-day sessions each year). Students include physicians, hospital executives, and biomedical research supervisors from the Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) and Chinese Academy of Medical Science (CAMS).
