Delta
Gamma offers to women of all ages a rich
heritage based on principles of personal
integrity, personal responsibility and
intellectual honesty. Its primary purpose is to
foster high ideals of friendship, promote
educational and cultural interests, create a
true sense of social responsibility, and develop
the finest qualities of character.
LEADERSHIP
Delta Gammas
are involved leaders in the Montevallo community
as participants in College Night, SGA, Scholars
in Action, Order of Omega, Montevallo Mavens,
and Montevallo Masters, as well as other various
honor societies and community groups.
Furthermore, the fraternity offers scholarships
to members each year to leadership institutes in
order to create well-rounded women, and we have
a variety of leadership opportunities within the
chapter.
SERVICE
We pride
ourselves on our philanthropic and service
endeavors toward Delta Gamma Service for Sight.
Annually we host Anchor Splash, an annual water
olympics and always one of the biggest events on
campus. We also have continued relationships
with Knowlwood Nursing Home in Calera and
Special Equestrians, and we collect box tops
year round for the Alabama School for the Blind.
SCHOLARSHIP
To promote
scholarship, Delta Gamma awards merit and need
based scholarships for their members each year
as well as graduate fellowships. At Montevallo,
we continually strive to maintain high standards
academically and we award our members who go
above and beyond their academic duty each
semester. We are students first and are devoted
to creating intelligent and involved members.
SISTERHOOD
To create a
true and lasting sisterhood, we hold social
events each year, such as mixers with other
sororities and fraternities, crush parties, and
the annual Golden Anchor Ball formal. We also
hold sisterhood events and retreats year round
to grow in our bonds of sisterhood. We know that
sisterhood is for a lifetime, not just at
Montevallo but also at the other 146 collegiate
chapters and the many alumnae groups of Delta
Gamma.
