WHNT-TV (CBS) Huntsville, Alabama, has an immediate opening for a full-time Video Editor.  Applicant must be able to edit on a variety of digital or video tape platforms.  Ideal candidates must be self-starters, hard workers, be versatile, efficient and work well under extreme deadline pressure.

 Core Job Functions:                                      

·         Editing video for on-air and online.

·         Must have a solid grasp of how to tell stories with video, sound and graphics.

·         Must have a clear understanding of video editing fundamentals (sequencing,     jump cuts, audio/visual linkage, etc) and legal issues associated with videojournalism.

·         Web Publishing: Post video to station’s website.

·         Should have basic ftp skills.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 Minimum Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

Ability to edit digital video clips on linear & non-linear video systems.  Prefer candidates who are already proficient at Final Cut Pro.  Ability to work well with people in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment.  Good communication skills and team-centered mindset. 

 Education Requirements:

A college degree in Communications or related-degree is preferred, but not required.  Also prefer candidates with at least 1 year experience as a video editor at a commercial television station.

 Physical Requirements:

Dexterity to operate video editing equipment.  Position may require employee to work early morning or late night shift, weekends and holidays.

Position is responsible for four major functions: 

1. Data Analysis – must be able to proficiently use excel and other software programs along with being very detail oriented.  Will need to learn additional software to be proficient with DRRS(Plus)/RRS(Plus) processes and delivery of results/data/findings. 

2. Medical practice site audits – must be able to travel to medical practices around the U.S. for 2-3 days at a time.  Must be able to present findings to middle and upper client management.

Qualifications: Master's degree in a clinical area with a supervised practicum as a part of graduate level coursework required. Ability to perform individual and family therapy to include behavior modification, problem solving, and positive parenting. Ability to organize and manage one's own activities with a minimum of direct supervision. Case management experience highly desirable. Motivational Interviewing or Motivational Enhancement Therapy training desirable. Understanding of the dynamics of parent/child and family relationships is required.
