Visit our website: www.montevallo.edu/sss to learn more information about our program and students. _____________________________________________________ Position: Student Worker - Computer Lab Assistant (Fall 2009) Work Study: Yes Jobship: No Art Department - Bloch Hall Contact: Mrs. Earline Howell - 665-6400 or howelle@montevallo.edu The Art department at the University of Montevallo has a Macintosh based graphics arts computer classroom and lab in Bloch Hall.(214) The room consists of 18 iMAC’s, multiple printers and scanners. Duties: Assist in the day to day operations of a Macintosh Computer Classroom and lab for the Art Department. This includes basic Mac hardware and operating system support. Keeping printers supplied and functioning and assist students and faculty with multiple Graphics Arts software including but not limited to the Adobe Creative Suite. Maintaining scanners and printers, restocking media and supplies, supervising printing, and general maintenance of the space.Other Duties as assigned. Qualifications: Priority will be given to a Fine Arts major or minor, preferably in Graphic Design or New Media. Computer Lab Assistants must be registered Montevallo students in good academic standing during the semester of their appointment. Willing to learn the MAC hardware and MAC operating system, in addition to software used by faculty and students in Art computer classroom. Reliable quick learner who can work with minimal supervision. Technical Knowledge : User level knowledge of MAC hardware and the MAC operating system. The lab is on Mac 10.4.9 _____________________________________________________ Position: Student Worker - Shop Assistant (Fall 2009) Work Study: Yes Jobship: No Art Department - Bloch Hall Contact: Mrs. Earline Howell - 665-6400 or howelle@montevallo.edu Duties: General clean up and light maintenance for the 3-D complex. Applicants should expect physical labor in this position. There may be occasions when the student worker will open certain studios and supervise students after normal hours.
