The University of Montevallo Counseling and Career Center staff extends greetings and a warm welcome to the many constituents we seek to serve within the University of Montevallo community. We encourage University of Montevallo students to make use of the services available within the Counseling and Career Center. Within ethical and legal guidelines, our services are confidential so privacy can be assured. The types of services we offer include career and personal counseling.

Career counseling services include career assessments and employability skills training, information regarding full and part-time jobs, on-campus interviews, internships, graduate school, careers events, and seminars.

Personal counseling services include mental health screening and evaluation/assessment, short term individual personal counseling, groups, and crisis intervention. Students whose needs fall outside of the scope of our practice are referred for more appropriate and/or specialized services.

In addition to the services listed, counselors also offer outreach programs to various groups, classes, and in residence halls. Resource libraries are available to students interested in researching various counseling-related topics.

Counseling and Career Center staff members are credentialed and experienced counselors. Advanced graduate students in Counseling, under the supervision of licensed professionals, also provide services to students in our center.
