The charm of brick-paved streets and walkways, lined with century-old water oaks and ginkgo trees will welcome you to the University of Montevallo campus and to Ramsay Conference Center, a meeting and lodging facility providing maximum convenience and minimum distractions.

UM is 15 minutes from the Shelby County Airport and less than an hour from the Birmingham International Airport.

  UM is a state supported, four-year liberal arts college emphasizing a quality education in a small-college environment. The campus, located 30 miles south of Birmingham, is easily accessible to most major highways (Interstate 65, U.S. Highway 31)

Hotel Rooms

Ramsay Conference Center can accommodate up to 80 guests in double-occupancy rooms. A three-room Presidential Suite is also available with special permission.

Each room features a private bath, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, two single beds and a television w/remote.  One bedroom is specifically designed to aid physically challenged guests.

Conference Rooms

The Center features five conference rooms, four of which are on the main level. Each is designed to accommodate special needs, providing comfortable chairs and work tables, refreshment centers, chalkboards, Dri-Wipe boards and projection screens.

Dining Options

The University cafeteria, adjacent to Ramsay Conference Center, has banquet and private dining areas available. Options for group dining range from intimate settings to large banquets. The cafeteria also can provide catering for parties and meetings of unlimited size. Delicious sandwiches, snacks and a variety of coffees are available at the Jazzmans Cafe.  There are several local restaurants and fast-food outlets in downtown Montevallo.

Recreation

The University setting offers a variety of choices of leisure-time activities. 

The University also has an eighteen-hole golf course, a lake and  intramural fields. Also, Montevallo is within easy driving distance of several nearby attractions including Oak Mountain State Park, Tannehill State Park, Brierfield Ironworks Park and the Riverchase Galleria.
