Students are encouraged to enter into a journey of vocational discernment, which reflects and compliments the University’s liberal arts mission.

-Vocational Discernment Workshops - students begin to engage in a process of self-awareness, exploration, discernment, and design. Students will individually:

•Complete assessments and explore individual talents

•Begin to discern a vocational path/calling

•Explore careers correlated to one’s unique calling (read, talk, do)

•Explore curricular activities to support one’s vocational calling

•Explore/introduce co-curricular activities to support one’s calling

•Establish a tangible path (virtual resume)

SOPHOMORE YEAR: EXAMINE

Find meaningful purpose in life by pursuing activities that support your vocation or calling

•Vocational Discernment Workshops - students more closely examine their individual process and refine their individual paths . Students will:

•Select a career that compliments one’s chosen vocation

•Select a major to support one’s vocational path

•Select co-curricular activities to support one’s vocational path

•-Students examine and engage in opportunities to support curricular and co-curricular interests, which may include:

Internships

Undergraduate Research

Service Learning

JUNIOR YEAR: ENGAGE

Find meaningful purpose in life by pursuing activities that support your vocation or calling

Student engages in chosen curricular activities
Students engage in chosen co-curricular and professional activities that support their personal vocational path and provide opportunities for relationship building
Students further integrate liberal arts principles into chosen vocational path and transform those principles into qualities necessary to pursue a chosen career.
Students prepare to locate opportunities within a chosen vocation and/or prepare to pursue further education
Student review and refine their personal paths and adjust if necessary.

SENIOR YEAR: EXECUTE

Find meaningful purpose in life by pursuing activities that support your vocation or calling

•Students complete curricular activities

•Students complete selected co-curricular activities and use those activities to build relationships

•Students continue activities that support a vocational path and build relationships important to pursuing opportunities within a chosen vocation and/or further education

•Students begin to locate opportunities within a chosen vocation and/or prepare to pursue further education
