Dining Services Makes Its First Drop of Compost into UM Organic Community Garden!

Keith, a Dining Services employee who has served UM for many years, makes the first drop-off of compost to UM Organic Community Garden on April 27, 2012.

Our cooks put uncooked fruit and vegetable scraps from their food preparation into a rolling white container, affectionately named the "Sustainability Barrel," and store it in the prep cooler until it is ready to be emptied into the compost bin.

We hope to continue this partnership with our own community garden for years to come!
