SACS Reaffirmation
Since 1925, The University of Montevallo has been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the body recognized by the United States Department of Education to accredit educational institutions in Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Latin America.
In 2011, the University completed our periodic reaffirmation process. Efforts to prepare for the reaffirmation process began on campus during the fall of 2008 with the launch of a Compliance Readiness Audit and the initiation of topic exploration for the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The University's Compliance Report was submitted for external review in August 2010, followed by an on campus evaluation in March of 2011.
Through the
leadership of the reaffirmation teams and
the involvement of the entire campus
community and its many stakeholders, the SACS
reaffirmation process serves to assure constituents
and the public of the quality and integrity
of our institution and programs and to help
us make continuous improvements. These
outcomes are achieved through rigorous
internal and external review processes
during which the institution is evaluated
against a common set of standards.
The University of Montevallo was reaffirmed with no additional report requested at the SACS Annual Meeting in December 2011. The institution's next reaffirmation will take place in 2021.
