The University of Montevallo and the Campus Ministers Association will host a presentation by professional angler Clay Dyer on Monday, Oct. 28, at 4 p.m., in Anna Irvin Hall on the UM campus.
Dyer was born without any lower limbs, no arm on the left side and a partial arm on the right. However, these limitations did not dampen his determination and positive spirit.
He began fishing at age 5 and began competing in fishing tournaments at age 15. He became a professional angler in 1995 and fished in the “major leagues” on the FLW Tour for 4 years. The FLW Tour is named for Forrest L. Wood, the founder of Ranger Boats.
Dyer now shares his life experiences through motivational and leadership presentations to various companies, charities and churches. He is also a volunteer athletic coach at Hamilton High School in north Alabama. Dyer currently fishes the Bassmaster Open Series and select charity events. His website is claydyer.net.
For disability-related accommodations, please email DSS@montevallo.edu or call 665-6250, preferably a week prior to event.
